I have officially closed my old blog on blogger, re-directing it here.  I thought it only made sense to explain why I blog.  I hope you read, I hope you enjoy, I hope you know you are not alone no matter what journey you are on!

This is me… unemployed.  Enjoying it that first evening, knowing I didn’t have to go back to work the following Monday.  Little scared.  But I have a good work ethic, and I’ll find something quickly once we move.

Not working = more cooking.  I have found myself in the kitchen more with my time off.  The belly is thanking me, but the thighs are cursing me.  Need to find time for the eliptical too or else I’m gonna regret it.  However, it’s been nice using up some of the cooking supplies in the cabinets.  Little less to move!  Above are some Y.U.M.M.Y. zucchini bread muffins.  I made them with whole wheat flour to use it up, and they were really really good! 

This isn’t very pretty, but it sure is yummy as well!  It’s quesidilla casserole.  All the instructions and spices come in those little McCormicks packs.  However, it’s a little spicy for some of the family members, and also someone (the hubs) doesn’t like the black beans.  So I altered it a bit.  Only 1 tsp of chili powder instead of 2 and no red pepper, and then beans in only half of it.  yum yum yum

Monday we had a family beach day.  Counting on this being the last time we’d go to Ocean City, so we thought we’d make the most of it.  Sand castles, people watching and even playing in the water!

And we tuckered this little man right out!  He fell asleep before we were out of the parking lot!

Wednesday was another “Tourist in Our Own State” day with a trip to Baltimore.  We went to the Walter’s Art Museum.  We had a really nice time and got to see the “Springtime” painting by Monet.  It was beautiful!

There once was a time when I was nervous that our dog and Aidan wouldn’t get along.  Jessie is pretty protective and I was really scared she wouldn’t like Aidan taking “her spot” in the family.  I think I was wrong!  She puts up with so much from him and she takes really good care of him too.  Best Buds!

But Jessie is also foolish!  She cracks me up.  And she loves Aidan’s tent.  She spends more time in it than he does!

So that’s where my week went!  Might as well live it up since the major packing starts next week. Going to relax this weekend and then let the chaos begin!

My first project of the evening was this.  It was a Pinterest find that I re-created to a color that goes better with our family photos.

Next came “rules for Aidan”.  Another Pinterest find.  His room when we move is blue.  Aidan loves Thomas the Train right now so we’re going to do some decorating with Thomas items.  I chose these colors to go with Thomas.  I think they are perfect words for a young boy to live by!

I am really loving Pinterest!  This was another find, originally it was pink and had a cute little photo of a bare bottomed little baby girl, and obviously it said “girl” instead of “boy”.  I wanted to use a NICU photo, but with the wires and tubes, I chose a photo of Aidan when he first came home instead.  I’m not perfect at silhouetting images, but I still think this came out pretty good.

And lastly I did this digi-scrap page.  I used Katie as inspiration for this page… ok, ok, totally copied her!  But I loved her layout, so I followed suit.  I’m working on an 8×8 digital album.  Photos are chosen for no particular reason.  It may be a layout that’s perfect for a photo, or a photo I just need to scrap.  There are no rules, and no theme.  Just to create.

It’s now after 10pm and I’m going to go crawl into bed with my Kindle.  Currently I’m reading “The Art of Racing in the Rain“… I’ve managed to hold back tears roughly a half dozen times so far, not sure how much longer I can control it though.  It’s a really great book!

But I still have all my photos.  And a laptop with Photoshop CS5 on it. Digi-Scrapbooking it is then!
